One of the current priorities of S.P.A.C.E is to make improvements to the high school stadium by installing a new six lane track, upgrading bleachers, and building a new concession stand.
- For the first time in program history, Southeast students running track and field would have a home track to practice and compete on. Student's could make and beat school records at a home facility.
- The new and improved facility will be highly utilized by student athletes in all sports, for recreational and athletic activities such as a track, field day, and student fitness as a whole.
- The track facility will be open to the entire Southeast community. Given our rural location, there is nothing like it nearby. We envision this as the hub of our community where parents get steps in while their children practice, and active senior program allowing neighboring seniors meet with friends for their daily fitness, and more.
- Many families in the school system struggle financially. Southeast is the third most impoverished school system in Portage County with 50% of families taking advantage of the free and reduced lunch program. Therefore, joining a gym or, perhaps, even driving the distance to get to such a facility is out of the question. This facility will be free and open to the public and
families can spend time doing healthy activities together or by meeting up with friends.
